Fr. Mario's Homily - Cavemen vs Cavewomen

Gender equality is not the same as gender sameness. There is a lot of confusion about this. Does it mean that we will reach gender equality when half of all CEOs are women? Or when we are exactly the same except for our anatomy. 
Many people make the mistake that gender differences are simply culturally constructed, and that there are no real differences, in the way that we think and we are. 
"Equality of gender means that regardless of gender, you are given the opportunity to be the best you can be so that you can choose what you want to be without others restricting your choices, that you are not judged according to your gender, but your actions. That you are paid according to your qualifications and abilities, not your gender. That you have equal rights under the law." - Dr. Jane Amiander
